A Montana ranching family faces off against others who are encroaching on their land. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned expert in the world of Rodeo. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his mountain accent and reverts to his usual SoCal speaking voice. This is the kind of show where cowboy/western life meets big city mob life. This show is well-acted, the first two episodes are well-written, and leaves you wanting more after each episode. Not to mention the scenery in Montana and Utah is beautiful. The Duttons remind me of the Ewings from the 70s drama “Dallas.” In short, Yellowstone is “Dallas”; meet the Sopranos.
