Chronology
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by carrying out high-stakes assassinations. He soon meets his match in the form of a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down on a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The novel The Day of the Jackal is set in 1963 and concerns an assassination attempt on then-President Charles de Gaulle of France.
The series brings the action into the modern era
Mentioned in Graham Norton and guest stars: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). I had been eagerly awaiting The Day of the Jackal since I first heard about it. Then I saw the trailers and my excitement grew even more.
I was wrong because he played it so well
Well, after watching it, I can say that it definitely lived up to my expectations. Everyone knows what a great actor Eddie Redmayne is, but I still had my doubts about his role. He plays the anti-hero perfectly and you root for him to succeed.
I highly recommend this series
This series is best watched in its entirety because I can promise you that after watching one episode you won’t be able to wait to watch the next one. When Redmayne’s character (the Jackal) is on a mission, you’re on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. The Jackal reminds me of a James Bond spy who turned evil.
